Customers

What it is

Customers are external IDs from your product with one or more usage-unit balances built from buckets.

When to use it

Use your product's stable user, account, or organization ID as the Meterly external customer ID.

How to use it

How they work

Meterly can create customers during grants or explicit customer creation. Each customer can hold balances in multiple usage units. Balances may come from several expiring and non-expiring buckets. Meterly spends earliest-expiring buckets first. The Customers page shows balances plus Grants and Usage History for support and debugging.
